📅 October 2025 – Edgewater, FL
The Edgewater Police Department is joining communities across the nation in recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), a time dedicated to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and promoting collective action against domestic violence.
This year’s national DVAM theme, “With Survivors, Always,” emphasizes the importance of standing in solidarity with survivors—not just during moments of crisis, but throughout their journey toward healing and safety. The Edgewater Police Department is embracing this theme by reaffirming its commitment to providing compassionate support, resources, and advocacy for those affected by domestic violence.
“Breaking the cycle of abuse is never easy,” said a spokesperson for the department. “It takes courage, community, and unwavering support. We want survivors to know they are not alone—we are here for them, always.”
Throughout October, the department will host awareness initiatives, share educational resources, and highlight services available to survivors. Officers and staff are also wearing purple ribbons to show their support and spark conversations about the impact of domestic violence.
For survivors seeking help, Edgewater Police encourages reaching out to their Victim Advocate at (386) 424-2400 ext. 2156. Additional resources include:
