📍 Dallas, Texas — September 24, 2025

A tragic shooting unfolded early Wednesday morning at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. According to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the suspected shooter—identified as a sniper—opened fire from a nearby rooftop before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. along North Stemmons Freeway, where ICE agents were reportedly unloading detainees from a transport vehicle. The sniper targeted individuals at the facility, killing at least one and critically wounding several others. All known victims were detainees in ICE custody; no law enforcement officers were injured.

Secretary Noem confirmed the shooter’s death and described the attack as part of a disturbing trend of violence against ICE personnel. “While we don’t know the motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop,” she stated on social media5.

Local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, responded swiftly to the scene. A heavy police presence remains in the area as the investigation continues. Officials have not ruled out the possibility of additional suspects.

Texas leaders, including Attorney General Ken Paxton and Senator Ted Cruz, have condemned the attack and called for prayers for the victims and their families.
