Detectives are investigating a domestic disturbance that escalated into a shooting Saturday evening in Deltona, leaving one man injured and facing multiple charges.

At approximately 5:22 p.m., Volusia County deputies responded to a reported domestic incident at a residence in the 1200 block of Polk Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies found the home empty, with both individuals involved having left the scene.

Investigators later determined that the residents—identified as husband and wife—had been engaged in a physical altercation inside the home. The husband, Jermaine Jackson (DOB: 01/25/1984), later arrived at a Daytona Beach hospital with a gunshot wound to his arm. Medical personnel confirmed the injury was non-life threatening. Jackson was medically cleared but refused to cooperate with deputies, claiming he had been shot by an unknown individual in Daytona Beach.

The wife was subsequently located in Deltona and provided a statement to detectives. She alleged that Jackson had attacked her inside the home before walking outside. Fearing for her safety, she said she fired a shot at Jackson as he returned and attempted to force his way back in through a locked door.

Following the investigation, Jackson was charged with simple battery (domestic violence), violation of probation, and providing false information during a felony investigation. He is currently being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.

Authorities have confirmed that the case remains active, and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
