Edgewater, FL — September 30, 2025
In a heartfelt tribute to a cherished community figure, Kerry B. Lewis has announced plans to host an Honor Walk in memory of Chaile Kirk, whose legacy of compassion and service continues to resonate throughout Volusia County. The walk will take place on Saturday, October 14th, beginning at 11:00 AM at Edgewater City Hall and concluding at Mantte Park.
Lewis, a former congressional candidate who ran in California’s 28th District, has since become a prominent voice in Florida’s local affairs. As the owner of Rover Pet Stores Inc. and the founder of The Volusia Watch, Lewis has built a reputation for civic engagement, advocacy, and community-driven initiatives. His leadership in organizing the Honor Walk reflects a deep commitment to honoring those who have made a lasting impact.
“This walk is more than a memorial—it’s a celebration of Chaile’s life and the values she stood for,” Lewis said. “She was a light in this community, and we want to carry that light forward together.”
The Honor Walk will span several blocks through Edgewater, offering participants a chance to reflect, connect, and share stories of Kirk’s influence. The route from City Hall to Mantte Park was chosen for its symbolic significance—linking the heart of civic leadership with a space of natural beauty and community gathering.
Sign-ups for the event will officially open on October 10th, and organizers are encouraging early RSVPs to help coordinate attendance and logistics. All are welcome to participate, whether they knew Chaile personally or simply wish to honor her legacy.
Lewis’s dual role as a business owner and community advocate adds a unique dimension to the event. Rover Pet Stores Inc., known for its commitment to ethical pet care and local partnerships, has become a hub for community connection. Meanwhile, The Volusia Watch continues to serve as a watchdog and platform for civic awareness, amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard.
“This is personal for us,” said a spokesperson from The Volusia Watch. “Chaile Kirk was part of our extended family, and Kerry—our very own boss—is leading this walk not just as a tribute, but as a call to unity.”
The Honor Walk is expected to include brief remarks from Lewis and other community members, as well as opportunities for attendees to share memories and reflections. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring water, as the walk will cover a moderate distance.

Let us walk together—for Chaile, for remembrance, and for the enduring spirit of community she helped build.
