Daytona Beach Emergency Management officials are closely monitoring Tropical Depression 9 as it approaches the Florida coastline. Volusia County remains under a tropical storm watch, though the likelihood of direct tropical storm conditions is gradually decreasing.

As of Sunday afternoon, the depression is located roughly 95 miles from the central Bahamas and is expected to strengthen as it tracks offshore of Florida late Monday night. While the storm’s core may remain at sea, outer bands could still bring gusty winds and rainfall to the Daytona Beach area.
