VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL — Last week, district leaders and supervisors from across Volusia County Schools came together for a dynamic Leadership Lunch & Learn session focused on the foundations of effective leadership. The event, organized by the VCS Leadership Development Department, offered an engaging platform for professional growth, strategic thinking, and cross-departmental connection.

Held in a collaborative setting, the session explored a range of leadership styles and emphasized the importance of team-building strategies in shaping a unified district culture. Attendees participated in interactive discussions, shared insights from their respective departments, and reflected on ways to foster stronger communication and trust across school sites and administrative teams.

“This was more than just a training—it was a chance to build relationships and align our leadership vision,” said one supervisor who attended the event. “It’s encouraging to see so many departments working together to support our students and staff.”

The Leadership Lunch & Learn series is part of a broader initiative by Volusia County Schools to invest in leadership development and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement. By equipping leaders with the tools to inspire, collaborate, and adapt, the district aims to enhance outcomes for both educators and students.

With representation from a wide array of departments—from curriculum and instruction to facilities and student services—the session underscored the district’s commitment to unity and shared purpose.

💡✨ “We’re proud to see so many departments represented, all working together to shape a strong culture of leadership and collaboration across our district,” said a spokesperson from the VCS Leadership Development Department.
