Federal authorities have launched an investigation into a man who allegedly made violent threats against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and other federal law enforcement personnel. The individual, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly stated that he would “hunt down all ICE agents” following the conclusion of President Donald Trump’s current term.
In addition to targeting ICE, the man is said to have threatened to engage in physical confrontations with federal officers, prompting concern among law enforcement agencies and elected officials. The remarks, which surfaced on social media earlier this week, have been widely condemned and flagged for potential criminal review.
“These kinds of threats are taken seriously,” said a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security. “We are working with federal partners to assess the credibility and intent behind the statements.”
Legal experts note that threatening federal officers can carry severe penalties under U.S. law, including potential felony charges. The FBI has reportedly joined the investigation and is evaluating whether the comments constitute incitement or actionable threats.
The incident comes amid heightened political tensions nationwide, with officials urging the public to reject violence and pursue peaceful civic engagement. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
